Optimal performance for Screen Link depends greatly on the connection quality of the iOS device to the router, and how the PC or Mac is connected to the router.
Common symptoms of a bandwidth or connection issue include black video, high video latency and video and audio dropouts.
Suggestions to Solve Connectivity Issues
• Connect the PC or Mac capturing Screen Link video to the router directly via Ethernet cable.
• Connect the iOS device to a 5Ghz Wi-Fi.
Some Wi-Fi.routers will combine 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz networks into one name, in which case the iOS device will automatically choose the band with the strongest connection.
Video dropouts may occur when the iOS device switches between a 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz network
• Check that bandwidth isn’t being used by the iOS device for other apps or services, for instance music streaming or app updates
• Make sure the latest version of Screen Link, 4K Capture Utility (Windows) and Game Capture software (macOS) are installed.
